Donald S. Rothschild was Of Counsel to Goldstine, Skrodzki, Russian, Nemec and Hoff, Ltd. beginning in 1993 and became a partner in 2005. Within the employment and labor law practice, Don handles disputes in various litigation forums as well as negotiation and mediation of cases where the courtroom can be avoided. He assists employers by providing counseling and advice on human resources matters, such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, drafting of separation and termination agreements, employment handbooks and applications for employment. He frequently prepares restrictive covenants and confidentiality agreements. For employees, Don provides a myriad of services, including guidance of rights pertaining to discrimination, unlawful harassment, wrongful termination, breach of employment contracts, defamation and wage and hour disputes. Don also practices in the areas of transportation law and criminal defense.
Don is a trial lawyer with a record of substantial success in his fields of practice, including jury and bench trials in the state and federal courts and administrative agencies. He has practiced extensively include the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Illinois Department of Human Rights, U.S. Department of Labor, Illinois Department of Labor and Illinois Commerce Commission. Don has long been active in numerous legal circles, including past President of the West Suburban Bar Association, and various other bar associations and lawyers’ groups, including the National Employment Lawyers Association and the Labor and Employment Section of the Illinois State Bar Association. Don has earned Illinois Super Lawyers designation in the areas of Employment and Labor, Buisness Litigation, and Transportation.
