Transportation Law

The firm offers broad experience representing trucking companies, towing companies, messenger services and other carriers with respect to their regulatory needs as well as with business legal services attendant to their on-going operations.

Matters Include:

  • Licenses and registrations with transportation regulatory agencies such as the Illinois Commerce Commission, Federal Motor Carrier Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation and the Illinois Secretary of State
  • Corporate reorganization and maintenance
  • Litigation related to transportation issues and disputes

We regularly appear before the Illinois Commerce Commission, Illinois Secretary of State and other regulatory agencies concerning licensing, regulation commentary and rate setting. Also, in connection with unionized operations, we consult with carriers and provide counsel to them concerning their collective bargaining agreements, pension withdrawal liability, pension obligations, Pension Protection Act and ERISA-related requirements.

We are uniquely staffed to handle most types of legal matters—whether personal or business related—within our main practice areas: business and corporate law; construction law; employment and labor law; estate and tax planning; family law; land use and development/local government; litigation; and real estate law.
