Bill Cotter joined Goldstine, Skrodzki, Russian, Nemec and Hoff, Ltd. as a partner in 2015 and became of counsel in 2019. Prior to joining the firm, Bill was a partner with Coman & Anderson, P.C. in Lisle, and was the founder of Cotter & Associates, LLC in Darien.
In the estate planning and administration areas, Bill provides advice and guidance to clients on business succession, wealth transfer and tax planning. Bill represents clients in commercial and industrial real estate purchases and sales, financing and leasing transactions, and real estate development and construction and related service firms (engineers, surveyors, and program and construction managers). Bill also does business consulting and tax planning for small and medium-size businesses.
Bill is a former instructor at the DePaul University School of Law and has authored or co-authored articles on estate and business planning, corporate law, and general business management issues. His community activities include serving for 12 years as President of the Board of Education for Center Cass School District 66, DuPage County (1991 through 2003), and serving on the City of Darien’s Comprehensive Plan Committee.
