Frank Wirtz has been associated with Goldstine, Skrodzki, Russian, Nemec and Hoff, Ltd. since 2015. Frank offers extensive experience in transactional matters as well as federal income tax issues for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and real estate investments, including like-kind exchanges.
Frank spent the first 20 years of his legal practice with Jenner & Block in Chicago, where he was a partner in the Tax Department. He has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating, documenting and closing a wide variety of business transactions. He has also represented taxpayers under audit and at IRS appeals. Frank has written extensively on a variety of federal income tax issues, including the early development of the tax treatment of limited liability companies. He was a member of the Editorial Advisory Board and a columnist for the Journal of Corporate Transactions, a former national publication. Frank served as the co-chair of the Subcommittee on International Taxation of Partnerships, S Corporations and Hybrid Entities of the ABA Tax Section's Foreign Activities of U.S. Taxpayers Committee. He has spoken on various topics at ABA Tax Section meetings. He was also an adjunct professor at Chicago-Kent Law School, co-teaching a course on international taxation. Frank is a Certified Public Accountant.
